This plug-in will Protect your Wordpres blog content is based on the technique of “Disabling right-click” and “No text selection” scripts.

This plug-in will

Disable right click on your blog.

Disable Text selection too.

How to install and use

When your website has high search engine ranking, you will see many benefits. Although seo can be a little hard to get the hang of, there are simple seo mistakes you should avoid.

Targeting the wrong keywords Keyword research is the starting point for your seo campaign. Get this wrong and it is over before you have begun. Make sure the keywords you target are used by searchers and are relevant to your niche.

Forgetting to use title tags This is a common one often overlooked by beginners. Title tags are important and must be different on every page of your website.

Over doing flash Flash cannot be read by googles bots. If you are going to use flash, it is essential that you also use the html mark-up for it.

Link farms A mistake even those claiming to be the best are making. SEO changes all the time, link farms are not liked by Google. You need to spend your time getting one way links from high pr websites.

Using images for headers Headers are the first thing Google bots see. Take advantage of this and use your keywords in the h1 and h2 headers.

Poor website navigation Your website must contain no broken links and have good navigation. Both visitors and search engine bots need to get around your website.

Duplicate content. If you use content that has been used elsewhere, you will get your website sandboxed by Google. Search engines love fresh content.

Overdoing the keywords Having a string of keywords in your content that does not make sense will get your site penalized by Google quickly. Your content must flow.

Unreliable web hosting. Cheap may please your wallet but it will annoy your visitors and stop you getting high search engine ranking. Google will think your website is not there if it happens to crawl your site during an outage!

In addition to all the text, photos, illustrations, and other graphics that will appear directly on the pages of your Web site, you also need to create two other important bits of information, namely unique page titles and meta-tag data, which go into the HTML code of the site’s pages.

Page titles
Page titles are pretty self-explanatory. Each page on a Web site needs its own unique title, which after being placed appropriately in the head area of the HTML code, will appear in the browser window’s title bar. Page titles are set between opening and closing

Titles need to identify the site as well as the content displayed on each page by using a maximum of 70 to 80 characters, including any letters, numbers, symbols, spaces, punctuation, or other text entities. When writing your page titles, a good rule is to pack each one of them full of “keywords” that visitors are likely to use when searching for pages that contain desired information.

Meta tags
Meta tags are special HTML tags that also go inside the head area of the HTML code on a Web page, but rather than appear somewhere on or in the browser window, this information is strictly used by search engines, indexing spiders, and robots, and is hidden from the visitor’s view. Specifically, these tags provide search engines and Web browsers with informational content about the client’s company and code settings, which helps those search engines rank the site in search results listings and helps those browsers accurately display the code inside the browser window.

Keep in mind that meta tags aren’t magical search engine ranking improvers; on the contrary, they’re merely assistive code bits that can help people find your site. Truth be told, Google and some other search engines don’t use this kind of information as much as some of the other search engines, spiders, and robots do. Nonetheless, even though they aren’t as important as they once were, using them is still worthwhile.

While a lot of different kinds of meta tags can be added to the HTML of the pages, only two tags should be placed on every page of a site — the meta description and the meta keywords:

Description: The description of the site is a single sentence that concisely describes what can be found on the site. Normally it should be written as a single sentence or short phrase and should contain no more than 150 characters, including spaces and punctuation. This information is critical, because this exact copy is often (though not in all search engines) what appears in a search engine results listing when the site is found after a keyword search. As a matter of fact, you may even ant to create unique descriptions for each page of your site to further assist visitors in finding relevant information on the site’s different pages.

Keywords: While many Web crawlers ignore this meta tag, some still do use this information, so you may as well plan to include keywords in the code of your pages. Keywords should include the words or short phrases that you feel would be helpful when searching for this site. Keywords (and/or key phrases) should be separated by a comma either with or without a space, such as “bread,cakes,pies.” or “bread, cakes, pies.” Place the seven most important words first, in order of importance. Any more than seven words will probably be ignored.

Just a note. If I remember correctly, XHTML tags have to be in lower case alphabets. See the last sentence at Common HTML Validation Problems. Also, HTML tags normally comes in pairs, opening and closing tags. A few tags like the HTML for displaying images and doesn’t need a closing tag. Only thing is, with XHTML, I think you have to write your tag as . The meta tag generator gave this for my meta tags (it also include , etc. You can leave this out as it is already in your template. Just make sure to paste the meta tags below the tag in your template. This is a sample:

Blog Title

<meta name=”keywords” content=”your keyword, CSS, eCommerce, Joomla!, Wordpress” />
<meta name=”description” content=your blog description, examle: tutorial about CSS, eCommerce, Joomla!, Wordpress, etc. for beginners” />

Google always looking for ways to make it easier for you to access and organize your information online and google hope you find the ability to store, share, and collaborate on files in Google Docs helpful. In the coming months, google will enable Google Apps Premier Edition customers to purchase additional storage for $3.50/GB/yr (or €3.00/gb/yr in the EU).

Thumbnail view and spelling correction for Google Docs

Google have added a new view option to your Documents List: thumbnail view. While the standard “list view” displays the item title and information like sharing state, the thumbnail view displays small previews of your files. google generate thumbnails for all Google Docs types and most common files (photos, PDFs, etc). You can toggle betgoogleen the two using new buttons on the top right of the toolbar.

When combined with Search by Relevance, the thumbnail view makes it really easy to find the file you’re looking for.

And for all us spelling-challenged and typo-prone folks, google added spelling correction in search. Never again will you need to wonder how your search for “agedna” (agenda) came up with zero results.

When you’re co-editing in real-time, knowing where collaborators are making changes helps you avoid stepping on each other’s toes. google already have visual indicators for co-editor presence in documents and spreadsheets, and now presentations sports this feature too. You can see which slides others are working on, and if you’re editing the same slide together, colored indicators make it clear which text box, shape or other element they’re modifying.

Default https access for Gmail

In the past, you had the option to always use https encryption in Gmail to help protect your data as it travels betgoogleen your browser and our servers. After evaluating the trade-offs betgoogleen security and latency, as of last googleek encryption is now the default in Gmail.

If you trust your network’s security and want to disable always-on https for performance reasons, you can change your preferences in Gmail settings. Employees and students whose admins have not already defaulted their entire organizations to https will also see this option. The Gmail sign-in page will still always use https to help keep your password safe.

Easier duplicate contact merging

Over time, as friends and coworkers send you messages from different email addresses, your Gmail contact list can accumulate duplicate contacts. google recently made it easier to find and merge these duplicates. To get started, just just click the ‘Find duplicates’ button in the contact manager. Cleaning up your contact list is especially helpful if you sync your Gmail contacts with your phone.

Google Apps on Nexus One

Speaking of mobile phones, the new Nexus One Android device is a great way to take Google Apps with you everywhere. Nexus One not only syncs with multiple Gmail accounts, but it also syncs your contacts, with Google Calendar and with Picasa googleb Albums. Nexus One lets you instant message using Google Talk and access voicemail — including handy message transcriptions — with the Google Voice app.

Automatic page translation in Google Sites

Building the same googlebsite in multiple languages is lots of work, even if you’re multi-lingual. With automatic translation in Google Sites, sharing information with people who don’t speak your language is much easier. Just create your site in your native language, and visitors can instantly translate your site into any one of 51 languages that they’re more familiar with.

Administration tips

Deploying Google Apps

Has your company, school or organization decided to “go Google” — but not yet fully “gone?” Perhaps you’d like more guidance on the technical, marketing or training details? Or maybe you could use some resources to help you deploy? Making the decision to go Google can be the easiest part, but google realize that it sometimes takes a little boost to finish the process, which is where google come in.

There are several ways that merchants can take credit card details securely across the net. The method you choose should follow the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). Not all of them do. Merchants who do not follow this standard risk a heavy fine.

The best method is to process card payments in real time on the internet. Providers offering this service include WorldPay, Actinic, Authorize.Net. Net and many others. You pay an upfront fee and a transaction fee, but they do everything for you. This is generally more cost effective than a bureau service (see below), but requires you to have a merchant account with a bank, which is hard to get when you are a startup. This method is the most suitable for medium and high volume sites.

Then, some of the payment service providers can provide a ‘bureau’ type service. If you are unable to acquire your own merchant account, they will transact the funds on your behalf – a useful service for some, but not cheap, and they usually hold onto your money for several weeks. This is often the service which new start-ups must settle for.

The final way to take payments is by Paypal, which is easy to set up and allows both Paypal account holders and people with payment cards to buy from your site.

1. First, get informed
The more you know, the better decisions you will make. So look out for articles about ecommerce in the press, attend a trade show or two, and talk to people who are selling online already. Search on Google for related themes such as ‘ecommerce’ and ‘shopping carts’, find some informative web sites, and read up about the subject.

2. Make sure that ecommerceis right for you
If you are selling goods that customers do not need to touch, taste or smell before buying, at a fixed price, then the web is the place to be – especially if your products are hard for customers to find by conventional means. The web can offer your customers the convenience of being able to shop when it suits them, without having to travel or queue. And it offers a level of automation that can help drive down your costs, so you can offer keen prices into the bargain. You can check out the competition by looking on Google for some of the products that you plan to sell.

3. Get your offering right
Think about why people would want to buy from you. You need to provide them with something which they believe offers more value than the amount they pay, and which you can supply for less than you charge. It’s as simple (and difficult) as that.

4. Keep control of the cost
The less you spend on technology, the more you can afford to spend on promoting your site and bringing in customers. So look ideally for a solution that is low cost and can do what you want to begin with, but offers an upgrade path for the future.

5. Use technology that already works
Use technology that works, not stuff that’s a masterpiece in progress. Why bother debugging software from some start-up, when you could be using an application that is already working on thousands of online stores?

6. Find a reliable host
Your online store will be able to take orders 24 hours a day – but only so long as it is accessible. You will need a third party to provide the internet space for it. This can be your internet service provider, your ecommerce provider, or a specialized hosting company. Either way, choose one that is reliable. Get a personal recommendation from someone you know, check out one of the regular magazine reviews, or talk to your ecommerce provider.

7. Make sure you have ownership of your site
Solutions that are rented from a third party and hosted on their server can seem attractive for their low start-up cost and simplicity of use. But they leave you a hostage to the supplier. If the supplier does not provide good service – or worse, goes bust – you will be left high and dry. So choose a solution that covers these eventualities. For instance, you should end up with a full backup on your own PC, which allows you to move your site elsewhere if necessary. Alternatively, your supplier might have a backup partner who can take over in case of problems.

8. Make security a priority
Both you and your customers need to feel confident that you have adequate protection against hacking and fraud. Choose an ecommerce solution that provides full Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCIDSS) compliance. There’s more advice on this later.

9. Choose an appropriate payment solution
In virtually every market, it’s vital to be able to take card payments. In order to do this, you normally need a merchant account which is granted by a “credit card acquirer”. All the major banks provide this service. You also need a payment service from someone like WorldPay or Actinic, which will securely handle the transfer of funds from the customer’s bank account to your own. However, if you are a start up business it’s hard to get your own merchant account, so you may be better off using a service like Paypal. Your shopping cart should be able to support these and a full range of other payment options.

10. Do it yourself – or not?
The decision whether to go it alone or bring in a professional will depend on a variety of issues. These include your budget; your level of technical knowledge and familiarity with the internet; the amount of customisation you require; the amount of time you have available; and whether you enjoy playing with computers. An ecommerce package can enable you to deploy a good-looking, fully functional site quickly, and at low cost. A web designer will add a professional finish and enhanced features that can generate confidence and boost sales. Either way, make sure the finished site is easy to use for both you and your customers.

11. Don’t forget the marketing
It is all very well opening your shop on the internet, but you need to think about how customers are going to find you. This is probably the most crucial point so we devote a couple of sections of tips to the whole subject.

This tutorial illustrates how to design a nice pastel color menu with a dynamic submenu which appears when you select a link in the main menu, using CSS and some lines of javascript code. The result is like this:

Step 1: HTML Code
HTML code is very simple: you can use the flexibility of elements ul, li to design the menu / Submenu structure. I added also a green header above the menu, which you can use to add for example your site logo:

<!– HEADER –>

<!– Something in the header here –>

<!– Main Menu –>

Home

Movies

Music

Contact

<!– SUB MENU –>

General

Information

News

Drama

Thriller

Action

Horror

Colossal

Rock

Pop

Classical

How you can see each link in the main menu calls a javascript function showsubmenu() which takes in input the ID of the submenu you want to display.
Each
element into the layer #sublinks is a submenu related to a link in the main menu. You can identify each submenu with a progressive id, for example in this case with: S1, S2, S3…

Step 2: CSS Code
Copy and paste this code in the
tag of your page:

ul, li{border:0; padding:0; margin:0; list-style:none;}

/* ———– Navigation ———– */
#top-navigation{
background:url(img/topnav-bg.gif) repeat-x;
width:auto;
height:48px;
margin:0 auto;
}
#navigation{
background:url(img/nav-bg.gif) repeat-x;
height:32px;
margin:0 auto;
width:auto;
}
#navigation ul{
height:32px;
line-height:32px;
}
#navigation ul li{
display:inline;
}
#navigation ul li a,
#navigation ul li a:visited {
background:url(img/line-a.gif) right no-repeat;
padding:0 20px;
display:block;
text-decoration:none;
float:left;
color:#4261df;
font-weight:bold;
text-shadow:#ffffff 2px 2px 2px;
}
#navigation ul li a:hover{
color:#1532a5;
}

/* ———– Sub Menu ———– */
#sublinks{
width:auto;
margin:0 auto;
background:#888888 url(img/sublink.gif);
height:30px;
font-size:11px;
}
#sublinks ul{
height:32px;
line-height:31px;
}
#sublinks ul li{
display:inline;
}
#sublinks ul li a,
#sublinks ul li a:visited {
padding:0 20px;
display:block;
text-decoration:none;
float:left;
color:#FFFFFF;
}
#sublinks ul li a:hover{
text-decoration:underline;
}

/* ———– Hide Sub menu ———– */
#s2, #s3{display:none;}

When the page is loaded for the first time I want to display by default the submenu with ID #S1. So, I have to set CSS display property for #S2 and #S3 to “none”;

Step 3: Javascript Code
Now add this simple javascript function showsubmenu() to shows/hides the submenu related to the link on the main menu. This function takes in input a parameter which is the ID of the submenu you want to display (take a look at the step 1):

Copy this code in the
tag of your page:

This line of code execute a for cycle from 1 to 3, where 3 is the total number of submenu you have in your HTML code (in this example #S1, #S2, #S3):

for(i=1;i<=3;i++)…

If you want to add a new link in the main menu with a new submenu related at this link, increase the condition (3) of one unit (4):

for(i=1;i<=4;i++)…

…and in the HTML code (step 1), remember to add a new ul element with ID=”s4″ in this way:

Link 1

Link 2

Link 3

It’s all!

Download source code
